World Poetry Day 2024!
Dear fellow Cities of Literature, dear friends,
We are thrilled to send you the open call for World Poetry Day 2024!
As most of you know, the WPD celebration is one of our flagship classic projects partnering many Cities of Literature, proposed and coordinated by Granada since 2017.
As in previous editions, you will soon receive the joint poster designed by Granada City of Literature. We encourage you to utilize it at your best convenience, as it serves as a shared and significant link between the cities of literature, especially during these challenging times. Participating in this international poetry project is an excellent opportunity to showcase the unity and vitality of our sub-network to the world.
Please, find enclosed our Project Proposal Form. We would suggest as a first deadline to submit your 2024 WPD proposals March 1st.

Granada, City of Literature is calling on anyone putting together any activities for World Poetry Day to send in the following information to Durban, City of Literature:
1. Type of event (reading, round table, etc..)
2. Participants (poets, musicians, etc…)
3. Venues (bookshops, libraries, theatres, schools, etc…)
4. Links to websites
5. Brief explanation of your participation activities
Please see attached proposal and send your information to René Harry(Rene.Harry@durban.gov.za) no later than 27 February 2024 for collation.
