A five-hour, in-depth recorded interview with author and historian Aziz Hassim is one of the highlights of Facebook site Grey Street Casbah Area. The interview was recorded nearly two months ago. Hassim died last week in hospital because of illness.
Site administrators Ishaan Blunden and Buddy Govender posted on the site wall that it was the first time Hassim had done this type of interview.
Govender said Hassim spoke about his life from his childhood. The interview has not yet been edited or uploaded to the site. The site has been a hit locally and internationally. Blunden and Govender communicate through the site on just about any topic.
