Ncamisile Makhambeni

Ncamisile Makhambeni (1947 – ) was born in Durban. She is a qualified nursing sister who has an MA degree in African Languages . She wrote her dissertation on the topic The Zulu writers’ perception of King Shaka. She is a senior lecturer for IsiZulu at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and a founder member and co-ordinator of the African Languages Literary Information Museum since 1996. She has compiled and edited volumes of traditional literature material, poetry and short stories in which her own contributions appear. Among other works, she has translated Nigerian author Chinua Achebe’s No Longer at Ease into Zulu.
