The Minara Aziz Hassim Literary Award (MAHLA) together with Minara Chamber of Commerce and the Global Forum 4 Literacy will be holding a Masterclass Writers Workshop in Durban. It is big, it is the best featuring Writers, Academics, Business leaders, and award winning writers in the writing and publishing industry. Be there, and enjoy this free Masterclass before submission for the awards.
Calling all writers or aspirant writers to our inaugural workshop. Special shout out to all established writers who would want to do a presentation for the workshop and publishers who would want to mentor and coach our aspirant writers. It’s all happening in Durban the City of literature.

About the MAHLA Awards:
The MAHLA AWARDS are for all writers born, reside or resided and based elsewhere, even if they studied in KZN or spent more than a few years they are eligible to enter. This is the second year of the award. Last year Z P Dala won the debut award and Carol Campbell won the professional award. We have other open category this year so it’s for any genre besides poetry and children’s books. All the judges are academics and established writers. Entries close on 30 November 2016.
