She was born and grew up in Durban, a city she is still strongly attached to – in real life and literary. Strange Nervous Laughter is her first novel. “Strange Nervous Laughter is a book about love,” she says, “About being in love and out of love and on the brink, and the strange things it can make us do.”
Literary Tourism is tourism that deals with places and events from fictional texts as well as the lives of their authors. This could include following the route a fictional character charts in a novel, visiting particular settings from a story or tracking down the haunts of a novelist.
